Heuristic Evaluation

The first interactive prototype was a somewhat rudimentary implementation, largely due to the steep learning curve we experienced with our chosen implementation tools, Java Swing components. The charts were each an identical static graphic, and the labels were fake data as well, "Q1," "Q2," and the like, instead of actual question text. Only a small number of charts could be effectively shown in the display. Charts did not line up well with the corresponding information in the headers, exacerbating the difficulties in seeing how the components related to one another.

Still, it was instructive to get feedback about the essential interaction between the controls and the display, and the Chronkite group gave us a great deal of useful feedback which we incorporated as we continued our implementation. For our second interactive prototype, we fixed nearly every violation they listed.
